FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What are your hours?

We are open from 7am-5pm Monday-Friday year round. From April to October we are open from 8am-noon on Saturday. Please call in November to verify if we have Saturday hours. We are closed Sunday and all major holidays.

2. Can I see samples of what you offer at your storefront?

Yes! You will be pleasantly surprised at our extensive outdoor displays of fence, railing, decks, pergolas, columns and posts plus some specialty products. You are welcome to browse anytime.

3. Who do you sell to?

Our customers are retail clients, contractors and wholesalers.

4. How do I get an estimate?

Stop by our storefront, fax or e-mail requests or call for an appointment with our design consultant to visit you at your home. He will meet with you to discuss options and obtain measurements.

5. What is the charge to meet with the design consultant?

Absolutely free. We travel within a 50 mile radius (approximately one hour) of our storefront. We also have dealers in a variety of areas so if you are out of our range we will do our best to refer you to someone who uses Royal Outdoor products and follows our high standards of installation.

6. What happens after I meet with the design consultant?

He will design a drawing and one of our two customer service representatives will work with the design consultant to compute an estimate using your choices. It can take up to two weeks during our busy season to receive a quote. This ensures accuracy, the best possible price, and no costly surprises during the installation.

7. What if I want you to install my project?

After you meet with the design consultant and approve the estimate we will draw up a contract. We require 25% down when the contract is signed. The contract is specific for all aspects of the project.

8. What if I want to install the product myself?

No problem. We are happy to give written information and talk you through installation questions. We have sample pieces to assist you in understanding how our products go together. Our staff is knowledgeable and wants your experience to be positive.

9. What type of warranty do you offer?

We have a warranty for each of the various products we sell and would be happy to discuss the specific warranty for your product choices.

10. What is your charge per foot?

Each quote is customized for your specific desires. We do not want to mislead with a per foot price.

11. How do I maintain my vinyl?

Power washing works great. We have a list of household products that clean specific spills. Our products never require any additional sealers or special product applications.

12. Why should I buy from Vinyl by Design instead of my local box store?

Box stores typically carry lower grade vinyl and rotate styles. If your railing, fence, or columns need repair the box store won’t have (or be willing to get) the parts you need. We repeatedly see people who end up with damaged or sub-par material and need to reinvest in something else. It’s always better to buy quality material backed with exceptional customer service than to waste money on inferior products with no backing.

13. I want a custom look. Will you work with me to create something unique?

Definitely. We have a creative group who are happy to turn your vision into reality. We do adhere to codes so if we see that your idea could create potential safety risks we will offer other suggestions. Your satisfaction and safety are our primary concerns.
